How Comfort Is Sabotaging Your Chances Of Success

• July 20, 2022

When you are in a spot where your means of survival depends on taking a role in a movie on set, you will be amazed how fast you can finish a full movie script in seconds to figure out the role you can act perfectly.

More surprising is when you watch the movie later to see how awesome your performance was.

It’s when you have options, you sit at your comfort pondering the whole year from Google, YouTube to every other research medium just to find the right way to act a minute role.

Putting yourself out there to do something is not easy. Most of the time it’s difficult, a little scary and often discouraging. Making mistakes is frowned upon and daring uncertainty is avoided at all costs.

Most times, people are preoccupied by the notion taught from an early age that failure is something to avoid and so, the fear of failure unconsciously becomes the barrier to chances of success in many ways.

For most people, the fear of failure is motivated not because they cannot manage the basic emotions of disappointment and anger that accompany such experiences but because they are afraid of being judged by others, say – friends, families or peers.

However, you are a step away from your new goal, the moment you decide to commit yourself and care less of people’s opinion.

We often forget that life itself is a journey. The fact that you cannot predict with a degree of certainty what will happen in the next second makes life an adventure.

It is almost impossible to go through this adventure without experiencing some kind of failure.

People who cautiously live to avoid shame or critics literally go nowhere. And that includes not living their dream lives.

When you shun from living your dream life, you might just be accumulating regrets in later age.

When regrets linger, life depreciates.

So, to avoid later regrets, start cutting short your expectations from others and begin to commit to your quest. You might want to be a little shameless and careless about what people will think or say.

Consider going after your dreams now, even if they seem unachievable. You may or may not achieve it, but you will definitely be happy you tried.

However, if you don’t succeed after trying your best, then you can count on the knowledge and experience gained. So you can learn from your mistakes.

It is said that the easiest way to start is to start.

Therefore, you have to pick yourself up, summon courage and move.

Don’t wait until you’re stuck.

Once you make a step, the grace of God is always there to support.
