The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has dismantled a high-profile cocaine syndicate in Lagos, arresting leaders Agbakoba John Mmadu, his wife Agbakoba Ijeoma Chinwe, and their associate Okoye Ifeoma Maryjane.
The operation, which followed months of intelligence gathering, led to the seizure of 10.1 kilograms of cocaine valued at over N2.1 billion.
Additional arrests were made across Benue, Adamawa, Kano, and Osun states, with significant quantities of drugs confiscated.
NDLEA also intercepted a major opioid shipment in Abuja and continued its War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) sensitization activities nationwide.
Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd) praised the officers’ efforts and encouraged them to keep up the fight against drug trafficking and abuse.
