The House of Representatives announced the death of Ekene Abubakar Adams, the 39-year-old member representing Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency of Kaduna State, on Tuesday.
Adams, elected on the Labour Party platform, died early Tuesday morning, according to a statement by Akin Rotimi, the spokesperson for the Green Chamber.
In a statement, Akin Rotimi, said Adams was a “kind and gentle humanitarian, loved by all who knew him”

The dear departed lawmaker was a kind and gentle humanitarian, loved by all who knew him. His dedication to the development of grassroots sports in Nigeria was unwavering, and his contributions to the House will be deeply missed”, Rotimi wrote.
Adams was the chairman of the House Committee on Sports. He reportedly passed away after a brief illness.
His death comes barely a week after another lawmaker, Hon Musliudeen Olaide Akinremi, who represented Ibadan North Federal Constituency, also passed away.
