The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has extended the deadline for Point of Sales (PoS) operators in Nigeria to register their businesses by 60 days. The new deadline is now September 5, 2024, instead of the initial deadline of July 7.
The Commission announced this extension on Saturday, July 7, emphasizing that operators who fail to meet the new deadline will face prosecution and risk losing their businesses.
The CAC’s statement highlighted the need to give operators, especially those in remote areas facing network challenges, ample time to register and continue their operations.
This extension aims to ensure that all PoS operators comply with the registration requirement, allowing them to legally continue their business activities.
