Ian Cameron, a former head designer at Rolls-Royce, was found dead at his £3 million mansion in Bavaria, Germany.
The 74-year-old vintage car expert was reportedly st*bbed on his doorstep during a suspected robbery on the evening of July 13.
German news outlet Bild reported that a man approached and attacked Cameron.
The CCTV cameras over the garages, where his valuable cars were kept, had their power cables cut, according to The Sun.
Cameron’s wife, Verena Kloos, escaped by jumping over a wall and called the police from a neighbor’s house.
Police have labeled the incident a ‘violent crime’ and launched a manhunt for the killer, who fled on foot.
Search teams, including dogs and a helicopter, are involved in the hunt.
The suspect is described as 180cm to 190cm tall, wearing light trousers, a dark blue hoodie, and carrying a red rucksack and yellow-green gloves.
Cameron retired from Rolls-Royce in 2013 after 20 years, contributing to the design of cars such as the 3 Series, Z8, Phantom, and Ghost.
